HLCV BOREALIS hull launched
at Nantong
Nordic Heavy Lift ASA (NHL) is pleased to announce that the hull of the HLCV BOREALIS was launched on 19th October 2009 and is now safely afloat alongside the Nantong Yahua Shipyard in Nantong, China.
The construction contract for the hull including major part of the pipe work was sublet by NHL's main contractor Sembawang Shipyard Pte. Ltd., Singapore to the Nantong based yard.
The launch is a key marker of the progress in the construction project. The Company will now focus all its efforts on the next phase of the project. Upon the arrival of the hull in Singapore, scheduled for mid November 2009, Sembawang Shipyard Pte. Ltd. will continue the outfitting of the HLCV BOREALIS including installation of the power and propulsion systems. Final outfitting and the installation of the 5,000t Huisman crane will also take place in Singapore.
The hull of the HLCV BOREALIS measures 182 meters length, 46.2 meters width and has a depth of 16.1 meters.
